Calculation of greenhouse gas emissions for manufacturing companies
As part of its consulting services for manufacturing companies, TerrAria is involved in drafting the “GHG Protocol,” which establishes a comprehensive and standardized framework for measuring and managing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from public and private sector activities. In this context, TerrAria assists companies in identifying sources of GHG emissions and carries out the collection of related data, within the three different “Scopes” that distinguish the GHG Protocol. Indeed, the protocol aims to first identify all direct emissions from sources controlled or owned by the company, such as fuel use for energy production, emissions from company vehicles, and fugitive emissions from refrigeration (Scope 1). Second, emissions from power generation are identified (Scope 2). Finally, indirect emissions from energy use, from sources not directly controlled by the company, are calculated (Scope 3).
