Evaluation of greenhouse gas emissions
TerrAria is in charge of drafting the carbon footprint (CFP) of production companies.
The carbon footprint approach aims to assess the greenhouse gas emissions for which an organization is responsible, through quantification and monitoring of emissions and an evaluation of possible mitigation.
The organization’s direct GHG emissions include all emissions for which the organization is directly responsible and over which it has full control. Indirect emissions, on the other hand, include all GHG emissions for which the organization is not directly responsible and over which it has limited control.
Declined to the product, the carbon footprint approach makes it possible to assess GHG emissions related to each stage of a product’s life cycle, from raw material sourcing to the production stage, followed by use and end of life. By assessing a product’s CFP, it is possible to identify critical points related to GHG emissions (expressed in kg of CO2 equivalent), and thus derive insight into reduction strategies.
